When you wake up in the morning is there a subconscious mindset that you have built up that ensures you living the best possible life. Have you optimized things mentally, are You living life to the fullest?
Are You Living Life To The Fullest
The bizarre trend in mountaineers is not the risk they take, but the large degree to which they value life. They are not crazy because they don’t dare, they’re crazy because they do. These people tend to enjoy life to the fullest, laugh the hardest, travel the most, and work the least – Lisa Morgan
Living Life To The Fullest
I found this quote while reflecting on the unfortunate death of a climber on Vancouver Island this past weekend and how it affects each of us differently. When tragic events take place involving what we hold most dear people begin to question their choices and how the future will look for them.
I have taken this event and further solidified my guiding principles
- appreciate the pursuit of life and it’s pure simplicity
- seize every moment
- live life in a positive manner
- do good for others
- inspire through action
How will you move forward in your daily life?
Also for considering how risk plays into living your life in a manner that seizes each and every day I wrote a post on taking those risks. You can read it here Taking Risk in Adventure Sports – Which Viewpoint is Right . For living your life to the fullest and having a healthy and positive approach to each day I really like the article Brendan at Semi-Rad wrote What Story Are You Telling Yourself . These will help you consider if you are living life to the fullest.
Do you have a governing mantra or maybe even a manifesto on how you conduct yourself every day? I think having something to guide each choice is a good practice to have in your daily life.
For me they are the hastags I use on all my social media content, they are #MindfulExplorer and #ExploreBeyondTheUsual .
Two governing mantra’s I live by, which funny enough, contradict each other:
“Never regret the things you’ve done, it’s what you wanted at the time” and;
“It’s better to regret the things you’ve done, than the things you haven’t.”
I’ve read that in death people regret so many things they haven’t done, and I don’t want to be one of those people, so I live life with that in mind, reminding myself that people and experiences matter the most… nothing else.
We need to find the right balance between be sensible and having a good gameplan to enjoying life but also ensuring that structure allows for freedom and mobility to explore life to it’s fullest. Thanks for commenting Bobbi
