Explore Medicine Hat by Bike

One of the best ways to enjoy and visit a community is by slowing down and taking the time to explore from a different perspective. For me riding a bike on the local trails and pathway systems lets me immerse myself into the heart of the place I am visiting. With this in mind it was perfect that we were able to explore Medicine Hat by Bike during my stay.

Medicine Hat Tourism offers visitors a free bike share program to explore Medicine Hat on self-guided tours of the city at your own pace. On assignment with ZenSeekers we had the opportunity to check out the network of trails, paths and city streets that make the city so beautiful. Discover what this Oasis of the Prairies had to offer on that trip by reading my full ZenSeekers story.

Explore Medicine Hat from Park to Cafe

I think the nicest part of riding a bike in Medicine Hat is the ability to get close and personal with the heart of the city. To me that is the mighty South Saskatchewan that has carved it’s way right through the land. It has created a deep river valley offering vistas on the bluffs up high and lush treed parks along river banks below.

Stay a night & see a sight, here is help to live out your next #BucketlistAB adventure.

With the river as the lifeblood that connects the city an amazing community full of countless parks, trails, historic locations and urban amenities has sprang forth. Whether using your own bikes or the Borrow-A-Bike from Medicine Hat Tourism you will find plenty to see or do.

A Major highlight and means to explore much of the city would be challenging yourself to ride the Medicine Hat portion of The Great Trail. The city offers up 21kms worth of trail adding to the massive trail network that stretches across Canada from coast to coast.

The most notable trail system in the city would be the Heritage Trail Network. If you were to Explore Medicine Hat by bike this would be the way with over 115 kms of trail network awaiting you. Discover the paved paths. dirt trails, regional parks, playgrounds, historic landmarks and even heritage museums all from the trail system.

Download the Heritage Trail Network map brochure HERE.

As always I am a huge fan and user of the Trailforks app on my smartphone. I can easily navigate the trail networks in a region and also read on the trail details such as length and highlights.
